Why does it say sketch could not be solved in Onshape?

What does sketch could not be solved mean on Onshape?

Looks like you’ve got dimensions fighting each other. Eg on the left edge you have a dimension, and on the right side you have 3 dimensions making up the same edge but the maths is off.

How do you fix a sketch on Onshape?

Currently, we have two circles on our sketch plane. If you click the center you can freely move the circle around. If you click the center of the circle and then click the Fix tool on the sketch toolbar, the Fix icon is affixed to the circle, and you can no longer move the circle.

Why is my sketch red Onshape?

Onshape uses colors to indicate if a sketch is under-constrained, over-constrained, or fully constrained. Entities of an over-constrained sketch will be red. Entities of an under-constrained sketch will be blue and entities of a fully constrained sketch will be black.

How do you know when a sketch has been fully constrained?

A sketch is fully constrained when the size and position of all sketch geometry is completely defined. This is achieved using a combination of constraints and dimensions. You don’t always need to fully constrain sketches, but it is often good practice to do so.

  2. Select a plane. …
  3. Click. …
  4. Click in the graphics area to set the center of the circle.
  5. Move the cursor away from the first point and click again to set the diameter of the circle.

How do you Unfix a sketch in Onshape?

look for the ones with the ‘fix’ symbol: You can then right click on these and press “Delete sketch entity” in the context menu, or as a shortcut you can left click the constrain and then press ‘Delete’ or ‘Backspace’ on your keyboard (Mac or Windows respectively). Hope this helps!

Why are my dimensions Gray in Onshape?

Types of error indicators

Dimension highlighting – Color is used to indicate the constraint status of dimension: black indicates a driving dimension, and light gray indicates a driven dimension.

Which mate allows the most degrees of freedom?

In Onshape there is just one Mate between any two parts, and therefore the movement (degrees of freedom) between those two parts embedded within the Mate.
