What is a part in FreeCAD?

What is the difference between part and part design in FreeCAD?

PartDesign can only create solids; furthermore, it can only create a single contiguous solid at a time. Part is a general purpose workbench.

What is the part workbench?

The Part Workbench is a layer sitting on top of the OCCT libraries, that gives the user access to OCCT geometric primitives and functions. Essentially all 2D and 3D drawing functions in every workbench ( Draft, Sketcher, PartDesign, etc.), are based on these functions exposed by the Part Workbench.

How do I activate part in FreeCAD?

Double-click the Body in the tree view or open the context menu (right-click) and select Toggle active body to activate or deactivate the Body. If another Body is active, it will be deactivated. See active status for more information.
