How do I share a folder on Onshape?

The Onshape best practice is to keep minimal permissions on the root folder and add additional access and permission on individual documents. To share a folder: Select the folder on the Documents page. Click the Share button.

Select a linked item in the Feature list, right-click and select Open linked document to open the linked document in a new tab in your browser window. To allow another user to link to your document, share the document with at least Read/Copy/Export permissions (or higher).

To update the data imported into Onshape: Export the file again from the original system. Note the file name and location. Open the Onshape document containing the originally imported data, right-click the tab with the file name, and select Update.

Can you import files into Onshape?

Onshape makes it easy to import and export your data. To import, select the “Import” icon from the Documents page, or from within your Document. To export, right click the tab that you would like to export and click “Export.” Then simply choose the file format you want the exported file in.
